    I'll call today rehearsal day

Before I begin, I'm supposed to write something about my dad on here; the ten minutes a night on the phone with him isn't enough, ha. So, DAD -- I miss you (Mom too, of course) and I can't wait to see you! Hope you're staying busy in Fayetteville, or "on the ranch" as you say. Take good care of the dogs, and horses, and cows,...etc. Try not to go crazy without me!

Today began bright and early with rehearsals. Or, since I haven't yet explained our morning routine, I'll take time to do that now... Poor Sam has been waking me up! She walks into my room, crawls in on the other side of my bed, and we talk until I am able to sit up without falling back asleep. Sam is the ultimate morning person and I am so incredibly thankful for her. The past two mornings have taken a little more coaxing to get out of bed. I put chocolate on her pillow as a small gift, ha ha. She is also a little quicker than me (to say the least), but I manage. We are usually greeted downstairs by everyone except Taylor, the late sleeper of the Wood girls. Typical breakfast consists of MY FAVORITES -- Diet Coke, Zone Bars, and Toaster Strudels with blue icing! Then we head off to meet whoever, whereever.

Anyway, today began at 8:30am with (you guessed it!) rehearsals. We learned the non-finalist dance today, or as we like to call it, "the loser dance". *Side note - Mom you probably don't think that name is very Junior Miss appropriate, but us girls gave it that name, so no worries* We also recapped everything we've learned, so we are done with new material! Monday we begin rehearsals in the Civic Center where the program will be held; we have been practicing in the local Baptist church's gym. We had a pot luck lunch with our host moms and sisters. Seeing them has become the most exciting part of my day; between Ryan's random comments or Peyton's impressions, there is NEVER a dull moment. At the potluck, Sam and I learned how to peel and eat crawdads from the Wood girls. We returned shortly to more rehearsals and were dismissed around 5:15pm to head off to the mall to sign autographs and take pictures! Never before have I felt so... famous? I guess that's the word for it. Mobilians, as they call themselves, are very supportive of the Junior Miss program and have made sure to show their support by coming to our events. The lines to our tables were an hour long. After that, we left to grab something some Sonic. Sam had never even eaten Sonic! She ordered a cheesburger and a diet coke... I tried to talk her into a coney, ha, but no such luck. Now we're about to crash after a little bit of goofing off at the house. We estimated we can get a record of 7, maybe 8 hours of sleep tonight(?). We will wake up and go to church with the Woods tomorrow, and hit the beach tomorrow afternoon! So I will definitely keep everyone posted!

    Love,

    Maggie

Maggie, we are all pulling for you. You are precious and you have what it takes to be America's Junior Miss. I am reading your blog, voting on your photo album and keeping up every way that I can. Aunt Sammie Jo sends her love and best wishes also.

    Love,

    Verna Marie
