The days are flying!!! Today was a very busy day, starting with Camp Smile (Today was the Day of Caring) It took about an hour to get to the camp, so it was a perfect time for a nap to catch up on sleep =] We arrived to find the kids working on their morning projects. The great thing about this camp is that they have each child participate in the activities the best they can, despite their disabilities; I think it's wonderful the kids have a chance to participate in all the fun activities. We helped some kids make mosaics, which were very pretty. I was helping this one little girl named Emma and when it was time for us to go, she gave me a big hug and kiss, which just melted my heart! Next we sang songs during snack time and then moved on to help a group of boys dress up in costumes and take "glamour shots." I had a blast!
After lunch at the Junior league with my host family, we had rehearsal all afternoon! We finished fitness and the reviewed the opening number and it was a productive afternoon. Next, we went to the Mardi Graw museum and watched a small parade! Tomorrow we will be in the big parade on a float in downtown Mobile! After the musuem, we had an outdoor picnic with our host family complete with dancing and a talent show!
This week has been an absolute blast so far, and tomorrow is PROM!
Once again, thanks for leaving me messages =]
