Today we had Day of Caring hosted by the Junior League of Mobile. We were split into three groups and went to different locations, I went to Habitat for Humanity to paint houses. It was lot a fun, and we (the girls) really got to bond while helping others which was a huge plus!
This afternoon we had rehearsal, and finished going over the fitness routine and the formations. I was really glad that we were able to go ahead and learn those- I feel more comfortable visualizing where I am going to be in the routine.
I had a blast tonight!!!! We went to the Mardi Gras museum and saw all of the king and queen outfits from past Mardi Gras Balls. Then we went to dinner with our state sponsors and host families, we had a picnic with them. My state sponsors are Roy and Kathy LeBlanc, former natives of Louisiana, and their precious daughter, Isabella; they are super sweet- good old southern hospitality! I had a blast dancing with Isabella and Pasley, and just having a good ole time! Who knew Mardi Gras originated in Mobile? It may have started there, but Louisiana made it better! :)
Tomorrow is an extremely busy day but loaded with lots of fun! We have the prom tomorrow night, and I cannot wait! I am sooo excited!!!! They are actually doing things a little differently this year; we are having a Mardi Gras parade in June and all of the contestants will ride on floats. After the parade we will have the Mardi Gras Ball (prom).
smiling from ear to ear,
Lauren
P.S. Pasley loves you!!! (she told me to write that!)
