    Workplace injury

Hello, I have a current injury that is being treated by workmans comp. I have what is called a SLAP tear in shoulder. According to the MRIs the shoulder has been injured for a while and has just gotten worse. Since I started this job 6 years ago I have had a umbilical hernia, repetitive stress injuries to my wrists and back, a bruised back, and now the tear in my right shoulder. Conditions in the warehouse that I worked in( the company merged with another and I got laid off) are far from ideal. Injuries were frequent. Do I need to talk to a lawyer about a possible case, especially with the severity of my shoulder tear?

Believe me, I am not just saying this in order to create business for some lawyer, however, given the complicated nature of your dilemma and the substantial injuries, I believe that it is absolutely imperative that you seek the advice of a workman's compensation lawyer.  There are several great WC lawyers in this area, and all of them will speak to you for free regarding this situation.

No representation is made that the quality of legal services provided is greater than the quality of legal services provided by other lawyers.  NBC15 does not assume responsibility for advice given by volunteer attorneys responding to these questions.

Ok, is there a quick list of them or just break out the trusty phone book? And is there a review of lawyers i.e. ratings or such?

Absolutly! It cost nothing to speak to a worker's comp lawyer. Take it from someone who has been through it, you need a lawyer. You may have to shop around until you find a lawyer that is right for you however. I went to several appointments before I found a competent lawyer that I felt comfortable with. It will be a long stressful ordeal so dig in and make sure you trust and believe in your lawyer. This will affect you for the rest of your life so it is very important to follow through. Good Luck!
