    Oysters...NOT a major food group

I ate TWO raw oysters today a new personal record for me having never eaten any before and yes, they are disgusting.  Tonight was our pajama party with the Tweens. I had my make-up and hair done beautifully by my friend Sydney who is in fourth grade.  I also got a massage another new thing but a nice treat instead of the oysters.  Practices are getting more and more intense, we are getting closer to the real thing!

    Hi Mari!

Angie and Capri showed me how to send you a message.  You are so brave to try eating oysters. That is far above me.  I've been having fun looking at your very cute pictures.  I hope all is going well and you are not melting in the heat.  Just remember the Brady Bunch song! I love you.  Keep up the good work and I'm excited to hear all about it when you come back!

    Hi Mari

You are easily one of the cuter candidates. We're all rooting for you back here in PG. Rob is fine here and he says two oysters is a LOT for you. My tip for you is smile through the pain. you'll do great. just keep your poise and we want to see you happy whatever happens.

    we're rooting for you!

Joe and the rest of the Argyles

P.S. Anna wants to know if you've had to use the heimlich on any of the other contestants

    Dear Mari,

This is Sister Williamson.  I've never done this before, but I thought I'd give it a try and let you know how excited and proud we are for you.  I just have to add this tidbit - at least they weren't Rocky Mountain Oysters.  I grew up on a dairy and watched my grandpa eat those with scrambled eggs and I think I'd rather eat those from a shell any day, although I have to admit I haven't tried either!

Darrin Haderlie is sitting here with me and wants to tell you that he hopes you're having fun there.  He wishes you the best in the competition.  We know they couldn't have picked anyone better to represent Wyoming or Afton.

Good Luck!  We're rooting for you!

I am truly impressed you were able to down two oysters.  I've never been able to get up the courage to do so, though I am a fan of sushi, but that is completely different.

Good luck!!  I've got all of my roomies here in Maryland cheering for you!
