    Yet another double post!!!

Last night got a little busy with our North v South softball game and an early morning interview, so I'll try and catch up really quickly! Yesterday we began showing our talent pieces -- which eveyone is simply amazing so far -- and preparing for community night that was tonight. We ate lunch with the Lions Club (I believe) at the Civic Center. It was interesting to meet them, and for some reason we sang "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" for them... We also played the softball game. It was quite an intense match; we played four innings (I think). The South was ahead, of course, until the umps randomly decided to give the North a four-out at-bat because we were just embarassing them :) . They caught up, but we're the South, and losing is not an option. After we stole the victory, we all sang the national anthem and threw the first pitch to the Bay Bears, and their opponents, the Biscuits (Bay Bears are a minor league baseball team in Mobile). This was also the first time we could see our families!! Dad, Mom, and Savvy came for the game and the cookout. It was very good to see them and for them to meet the Woods. We then did little things throughout the game -- threw free stuff, little games, visited sponsors in the boxes, fun stuff like that. We said goodbye to our parents and got home at 10:30pm? Maybe? And then I was up at 6am getting ready for my interview! I am the first one in the first production group, so I've been sort of the guinea pig of the group. The interview went well, and I'm looking forward to being the first in preliminaries tomorrow!

Today we got back from interview and got another chance to rehearse our talents. We ate lunch in the Civic Center and I logged a nice 2-3 hour nap while the other groups were rehearsing :) . We ate dinner from Fazolis, and did Community Night! My host mom told me it was the biggest crowd that she's seen in the past three years; people were even filling up the balcony. We performed part of the opening number, recognized girl scouts that earned their "Be Your Best Self" patches, showed the nonfinalist number aka "loser dance", and taught all the little girls in the audience part of that dance! It was a blast because I got to teach my host sisters and Savannah as well. Dad was out in the audience clapping his crutches, haha. We were then pretty limited to face time with our families, but I managed to get a few hugs in. We're now back at the house and just got done watching Mrs. Kristina's birthday present from this year (I'll leave her age out). Her nieces and brothers made her a dvd of what's older than her and what's younger than her, pictures and all. It was so cute, and she wasn't the slightest bit embarrassed ;) . Oh, and probably my favortie part of the day -- sorry Brooke but I have to -- At dinner, Brooke and I were laughing about how I eat ice cream at every meal. Brooke was cracking up, and just broke down into tears! I mean balling! We could not figure out was wrong, and everyone thought I was being mean to her, but she explained that when she gets really tired she just cries. It was scary but so funny at the same time.

So tomorrow Sam does her interview, along with the other half of the girls. I will perform my talent, and Sam will do fitness and self-expression. Friday night is vice versa. Please keep us in your prayers!! Sam has a hurt toe that she is dancing on, so she needs all the healing she can get! Thanks for y'all's continued support, and I'll write tomrrow!

    Love,

    Maggie
