    Yesterday's post...

I'm sorry but I ran out of time yesterday to tell about all the activities! I was writing an article that has a chance to be published in the newspaper tomorrow just about Junior Miss so far... It depends how it compares to several other girls' articles. So I'll let you know! But fyi I did finish all 450 words of it :) ha.

Yesterday began with a breakfast at Springhill Baptist Church in Mobile. We ate with our host families and Dr. Terry Ellis, pastor of the church. We then broke into groups, those attending SHBC and the Catholic church. We stayed at Springhill, which has let us use their facilities all week -- big thanks to them! We were pleasantly surprised with an introduction during the service and a men's quartet performance. (I figured I'd list what hymns we sang just for Mom. We sang "Praise to the Lord, The Almighty", "Day by Day", "Amazing Grace", and "Take My Life, Lead Me Lord". The sermon, called "All That Is Important to God", was on Luke 15.) We then got a couple hours off to eat with our families and REST for basically the first time since our arrival. We then left for a tour of Fort Gaines, and a party on Dauphin Island's beach! Rain hit us for a little bit, but it passed through quickly and we ran right back out. All the host families had a sand castle building competition. The theme was "Fun in the Sun", so we cleverly built a solar system, each planet featuring a different sun-related activity. Brilliant, right? We didn't win anything... But congrats to New York and Montana who did. They created a huge snorkle and bubbles.

We then returned home. On the way back we watched High School Musical 2, which was a nice treat since Sam hadn't seen it yet :). I began my article, and got in bed to wake for another early morning!
