Hi everyone!

First of all, I have to say Happy Birthday to my mom... this is the first time I haven't been home for her birthday, but I am thinking of her =]

   Today was actually a relaxing day for once! I even got to sleep in (not that I think 8AM is sleeping in, but it's an improvement from 6AM) Today was church, so we had a nice breakfast there with my host family and then went to the service. It was much different than I'm used to, but it was very interesting and I enjoyed it. After church we had 2 WHOLE HOURS FREE! I spent time with my roommate, which is always a good time.

   We loaded up the car and headed to Dauphin Island to tour a fort and get in some beach time! The fort was interesting and they even had a painting dedicated to the AJM class of 2008 and we signed a canvas that will be posted along with it in the musuem. I was so excited to go to the beach, but it began to pour! That passed quickly so we were out in the sand in no time! Then another storm came in and we had to run to the car because of all the lightening. We finally got to finish our sand sculpture. The theme was "Fun in the Sun" and we made a huge AJM solar system, complete with each planet displaying something to do with summer! We didn't win any prizes, but it was still fun! The water was so warm, so we couldn't resist jumping in for a quick swim. Unfortunately, I don't think I got a tan =[

Tomorrow is the oyster eating contest, which I am totally pumped for! We also have our pajama party and I cant wait to wear my new green PJs. Other than that we have rehearsal all day at the theatre!!

Sam- Thanks so much for keeping us posted on what you are doing every day. I love reading about it!  Sounds like you are having a blast and I'm thrilled for you.  Didn't we tell you how great it would be?!?

The girls & I made you a card yesterday so you should be receiving it by Wednesday or Thursday I hope.  It's pretty funny at home, I log on the computer at night to look to see what's new in your blog and Haley asks if we're going to look for Sam in Balama??  It was pretty confusing at first but we quickly figured out that she keeps trying to say Alabama! 

Chris and I are doing the big countdown too...3 more days for us til we get there and we are super-psyched!!   Have tons more fun and we'll see you in a few days!!  Love, Jenn  :)

     I love watching all of the coverage on the internet.  I finally clearly saw you at the oyster eating contest.  I was pretty happy.  The trip to the beach looked wonderful.  Was the water cold?  I am glad that you are having the "time of your life".  Pretty soon, the atmosphere will get more serious.  I know that you will be up to the challenge.  Just know that people will be arriving in Alabama to see you, and also many people are back here in Easthampton, cheering you on.

     Did you hear that you were featured in the Sunday paper on page 2?  Way cool.
