    Day 2

Since it is getting so late, Im just going to copy and paste what I had to write for my Junior Miss Jounrnal. I love you all. Can't wait to see you! Hugs and Kisses!

Wow! What an amazing day full of surprises! America's Junior Miss has been more wonderful than I could have ever expected. All of the girls participating in this years compettion have already had the chance to have some amazing experiences, and its only the first day! Early this morning, all of us met at Bellingrath Gardens to have breakfast with our host dads. The food was deleicious and of course I got to experience the wonderful humidity here in Mobile. There are these wonderful girls called the Azalea Trailmaids, bless their hearts. Not only did they stand in those big, fluffy dresses all morning to greet us, they even came back to Springhill Baptist Church to help us. They made sure that every peice of our costumes ffor the shows next week had our initials in it so we wouldn't misplace misplace. Speaking of coustumes, what an experience that that has been today. Junior Miss found a way so that everything for our opening number and fitness routine, from our dress to our jewelery, to our tennis shoes was given to us. How unbelieveable is that? In the weeks prior to arriving in Mobile I really stressed about how I was going to get my hair and makeup done for all the shows. Junior Miss even has professionals coming in to do our hair and makeup! I felt like jumping for joy. Words could not even describe how I felt after I found that out. After rehearsal we went to the USS Alabama Battleship and for me, that was quite emotional. As you drive in the entrance of the battleship, there is the Vietnam Memorial and I was deeply touched. I knew as soon as I saw it, I needed to go and pay my respect. My father was in the Vietnam war, and from that I have witnessed what it is like, emotionally and physically, to serve our country. Ultimately, that was the highlight of my day. The battleship was fantastic and I was absolutely amazed that there were actually alligators in the water! Needless to say, the only place we have those in Missouri is at the zoo. Line dancing was a blast too and really gave all the girls a chance to bond with eachother and our host families. Although, this is just my first official, full day in Alabama, I can already tell that it is going to be hard to leave at the end of these two weeks. Ive been so stressed about coming and now I hope it goes on forever.

    Love,

    Aunt Nelle

    Re: Day 2

Sounds like you are having so much fun. I am jealous! I knew you would have a great time. Your day was so busy you have to be exhausted. You probably won't be able to sleep tonight because you will be so excited about tomorrow...on second thought maybe not....sleep tight. Thanks for sharing your day with us all.

Chase had a good day. Played outside on the playground this morning. It was a beautiful day...probably not as nice as there! Came home and took a nice long nap. Now it's 11 at night and he isn't wanting to go to sleep. I tried rocking him and he keeps popping his head up and looking at the table where Drew sits and does his homework every night. It's kinda sad that he is looking for him and he's not here. Had to go to Philly for work. Will be home Thur.

Luv ya and have another fun filled day tomorrow!

I was so happy to hear of the fun you're having-and that you are finally going to start relaxing a little. I won't have to worry quite so much now(that's my job as MOM -to worry about you!) I've been working extra hours so I can take off and go to the ballgame tomorrow with Rosie(she has company box seats)and its a day game. I am so ready for vacation--fun and sun and I get to see you --and spend time with the baby without lots of stuff to do. YEAH!!! Looking forward to seeing more pictures!!MWAW!!

    Hi Nelle Belle,

It sounds as if you're having a great time.  Just have fun, and be yourself.  The whole world is about to see that you are as beautiful inside as you are on the outside.  Ricky was able to get tickets for the 3 of us for Saturday, Maddie is going to have a ball.  She's going to get to see "real" princesses.  The gang is Waterloo is so proud of you, and we just wanted to let you know that we love you!

I knew you would have so much fun there! Sounds like you are going to have so many experiences that some people will never have in their own lives. So take it all in girl because this only happens once!! I hope the weather's good, but I'm sure it is.

I'll keep checking up on you, but I know you've got it all under control.

    Miss you!

    Hi Nellie!

I am having such a wonderful time keeping up with your experience on line. You look absolutely fabulous! I can tell by the photos that you are enjoying the whole experience. Your "sunshine" is so beautiful, just as you are on the inside too! By the way, Greg Peterson, the news reporter for NBC 15 used to be on our local news channel! I recognized his voice right away. We are all SO proud of you and will continue to follow your journey on line (I'm so grateful for being able to do that). Stefani said she could just see your face light up, all the way back here in Florissant,  when you found out that your make up would be taken care of for you, even though she knows that you would have done a great job on your own.

Feel the hug I am sending you right now; enjoy the rest of your journey. Know that all of us back here love you and send our best.

    Love ya, Chris
