Already the end of another day!! Today was definitely a little more demanding than yesterday, although we've been told the real work starts next week... Sam, thank goodness for her, woke me up at SIX AM -- earliest I've been up in a long time! We opened the day with a big breakfast at the Bellingrath Gardens with our host dads and state sponsors. It was most of the girls' first time to eat grits, including Sam's!! And, to my surprise, all of them liked the grits! We then hopped in our vans, which are police escorted everywhere we go (we feel like movie stars) to go to orientation. We ran through all of our wardrobe, including our opening number outfit provided by Private Gallery (it's so cute!). We also met with our makeup and hairstylists... we are definitely gettting royal treatment! Then, as if this wasn't a lot already, we met with our choreographers to learn some of the opening number. Those of you who are coming, GET EXCITED!! It is going to be wonderful! And, lastly, what was probably my favorite part of the day, we toured the U.S.S. Alabama...in western attire!! We learned several line dances from the adorable man Lamar, who called me "Razorback", and were fed some awesome bbq and banana pudding. And now, it's time to crash, and start up again early tomorrow!! Thanks so much to all who are keeping up with me -- it's such a nice surprise to log on and see that y'all are reading! So, until tomorrow, take care!
