Hello all!
I can't believe it is less than two days before the arrival ceremony in Mobile! How incredible! It is really unbelieve how fast time flies! It was ten months ago that I was awarded the title of Tennessee's Junior Miss and it seems like only last month! After so much preparation, stress, and anxiety I have reached a peace about these next two weeks. I am so thankful to have such loving family and friends--I could have never been this prepared, both emotionally and physically, without them. I owe those who have sent cards, emails, and calls my way everything in the world--to those who have, you are so invaluble to me. I can't wait for this very exciting oppourtunity! I can't stop thinking about what an honor it is to be among the highest quality girls in the United States.
I had Tennessee's Junior Miss workday today, and it seemed so surreal! I just remember looking at Hannah Disterdick, Tennessee's Junior Miss 2007, and thinking how I wanted to be just like her, and how I was right where she was this time last year. I did a mock interview for the contestants and it really calmed my nerves. Some of the things that I had been working on I finally mastered--perfect timing! I also spoke to the girls about making sure they slow down during the week to make friends and have a wonderful time. I hope they walk away knowing that it isn't all about winning as long as they have tried their personal hardest and ended the week with no regrets. I hope I can remember my own advice through these next two weeks!
I will check back when I am in Mobile!
Love,
Chandler Lawson
