    Wednesday in Mobile!

Hey everyone!  Mobile has been so awesome so far!  Last night we went line dancing.  It was AMAZING!!  Thanks to my Downtown Country experiences, the girls complimented me on my "mad line dancing skills" haha.  I definitely felt comfortable in my rhinestoned cowboy boots, skirt, western shirt, and western belt! :)

We had rehearsals from 9 til lunch today and then from 1 until 5:30!  Lots of dancing!  We have now finished the opening number!  We are dancing to "Eyes Like Yours" by Shakira.  Nora Ali (AJM 2007) will play it on her violin!  It's going to be really cool.  We have to wear these "bubble" dresses, gold high heels (dancing in heels...yikes!! haha), and these huge gold hoop earrings (they had to convert mine to clip ons!)

We started brushing up on the fitness routine also.  Phew...it makes me tired!!  :)  Tonight we got to go to the local retirement center where they had a luau for us!  You can see some of the pictures on my album from last night and tonight!  One little lady actually did some swing dancing with me! haha.  There was a DJ and he played everything from the new stuff, to MMM Bop to YMCA!

Mom, dad, Kolt, and Nan, thank you so  much for my adorable things!  They are so awesome!  I miss you all so much!  Thank you to everyone who has left me messages!  Check back! i'll be blogging over the next week!  Justin... I hope you're being a good boy :)

    Love you all! :)

    Hey, Kaileigh!

I enjoyed reading your blog...Dad and I are worried about your knee.  Put ice on it every 20 minutes (then take it off for a while and do it again )when you get in tonight. Have Susan get you a knee brace and wear it all the time to give your knee some support. Take your motrin every 4-6 hours for inflammtion.  Elevate it at night, too. Keep your chin up.... this is the rough part!  Have fun and don't worry about anything!  Your are going to do a great job!!!We are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo proud  of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Was that emphasized enough?  Keep focused !!! I love you so much and it won't be long until we see you!  I'm packing today!!!

    Re: Wednesday in Mobile!

Yea! It is almost Friday!! I hope your visit to the doctor in the morning goes well.  Your might tell him about your fractured ankles just in case that might explain the knee weakness.  Who knows what has happened, but I'm sure it's going to be just fine in  a few days.  Don't worry there's a lot of stuff they can do to give you some relief from the pain.  Just be tough and know that you are going to be great! I love you so much and I will be praying for you! XOXOXOXOX

    Love,

    Mom

If I need to I can call Mike Clark and see if he has any suggestions!

    Kaileigh:

All your new pictures are just Great. You look like you are really having a wonderful time.  Take care of yourself and don't worry too much about the knees.

I can truthfully say that grace, beauty, talent and personality runs in your family.  I remember your mom had them and she has passed them all along her beautiful daughter.

I am really looking forward to arriving with Sue, Ron & Bettye next Tuesday and seeing and talking with you in person.

I remember a prayer we say in Temple and I would sincerely like to say it for you and your family.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He cause His countenance shine down upon you and be gracious unto you. May He grant you joy, happiness and peace.

    See you soon!

With sincerest regards--Your friend and admirer.--Phil Blender, Bartlesville.

    Saturday in Mobile!

Hey everyone!  Well, let me start with Thursday since I haven't blogged in a few days!  Thursday we had rehearsals all day and then got to tour the Mardi Gras museum here in Mobile.  You should see the capes that the kings and queens of Mardi Gras get to wear!  Oh my gosh!  Incredible!  Then we went to a barbeque with our host families at Fort Conde.  It was so nice and relaxing!

Yesterday morning we toured the University of South Alabama and then had rehearsals.  I'm sad to say I had to stop dancing at practice because my knee was hurting so bad!  The nurse took me to the doctor and she gave me some cream to put on it and told me to take 3 Advil and 2 Tylenol every 8 hours (yep...lots of pain medicine! lol).  We ate lunch with our adopted Girl Scout troup. They are so adorable!  They brought me Samoa Girl Scout cookies (my favorite!) and gave me a T-shirt they had all signed!  After that, we rehearsed again until about 5 then hurried downtown to be in the Mardi Gras parade!  We had masks, beads, and "throws."  It was awesome!  Part of the parade was delayed so the 30 minutes we thought we were going to have to get ready for prom quickly became 15 minutes!  We had a police escort back to the church to get ready where we had approximately 10-15 minutes to get from nasty rehearsal clothes to prom dresses!  We were trying hard to not look (and smell! haha) like we had been rehearsing all day and been outside in the humid Mobile weather for 2 hours in the parade! haha.  It was amazing how quickly 50 girls got ready!  i must say, I've never gotten ready that fast for anything in my entire life! :)  My date's name was Sam Blackman and he was very much a gentleman. We all had a good time!  And for once, the guys took longer to get ready than the girls! haha.

Today we started rehearsing at 9:00 and rehearsed until noon.  Then at lunch (with our families), I got asked if I wanted my makeup to be done in front of everyone by this fancy makeup line worker!  It was really awesome!  I felt special! haha.  We rehearsed from 1 until 4:45 and we finally know all of the dances!  Fitness, self expression, the "Loser" dance (better known as the Non Finalist dance) and the opening dance!  Yay!  Tonight we went to the mall and signed autographs for over 2 hours!  I felt like a star!  Mobile definitely knows how to make us feel very important!

Well, I better get off of here!  I hope everyone is doing great!  Thank you for the comments!  They make me smile!  Love you all and miss you!

    Love, Kaileigh
