the airport in Mobile officially had over 3 inches. 2" of which fell on Monday. The storms varied in strength and size, so while you had 5 inches, some others nearby could have had less. I live 2 miles from the airport and had over 6 inches Monday. That gives you some idea of the spread of rain, depending upon the strength of the cells that moved over your house.
