So I am going to play catch up in this blog....
This past week has been INCREDIBLE!! It is amazing how 50 strangers can become BEST friends in less than a week! Everyone is extremely nice and always smiling! :) Some of us girls were talking about how each contestant is beyond amazing in her own way. Anyone here would make a PERFECT America's Junior Miss!
Over the last couple of days, I have experienced A LOT! I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Exploreum with the Dearborn YMCA kids for the afternoon. The kids were so excited for us to be there with them. They all wanted to hold our hands and play the games with them! We got to build and ride our own roller coaster, see frogs, crack codes, present the weather forecast, and watch a rocket shot off! Then at snack time, we all made "Be Your Best Self" bracelets.
The next day we had rehearsals, of course, but we got a lot accomplished! We finished the opening number, fitness, and self-expression. We then got to be in the Mobile parade! We threw out candy and beads and had a great time. But one of the floats in the parade broke down, so we didn't move for almost 45 minutes. Although we were stuck on a float, outside, it gave me the perfect opportunity to teach a few of the girls on my float Sweet Home Alabama (ROLL TIDE ROLL). Of course I had to explain that at the University of Alabama we say 'Roll Tide' but we are the elephants. They didn't really understand! haha! Because the float broke down, we were late for the best event of the week, Prom! After we had a police escort down the interstate, we had 20 minutes to try and get beautiful and freshen up for our dates! I must say, for 20 minutes, everyone was gorgeous! When we arrived at the dance, our escorts were waiting on us down stairs. Being Alabama, I was the first one to be announced and walk down the stairs! My date was extremely nice, and I met so many people who are going to Alabama next year! Everyone had such a great time dancing at prom. We all just went on the dance floor and had a blast! We even got to perform our opening number for the guys! It was interesting! By the end of the night no one wanted to leave!!
Today was a more relaxing day! We had rehearsal ALL day, but we did get everything learned for the show! So all we have to do is perfect now. Our host moms cooked lunch and we watched 2 make overs (my host mom was one of them). Then after rehearsal tonight, we went to the mall for an autograph session. I have never felt more like a celebrity than I did tonight! People waited in line for over an hour to see us. I signed so many autographs. It was so much fun!!
I miss everyone from back home! I love y'all!!
