The Baldwin Pops will play an outdoor concert at 7 PM Sunday, June 1 at Henry George Park in Fairhope. This "Sunset Series" concert will also include the Celtic/World Music group Mithril (
http://www.mithril.us/). Mithril plays music that engages people of all ages using a wide array of traditional instruments including Irish flute, whistle, fife, Celtic harp, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, bodhran (Irish frame drum), and harmonium.
Roger Jones and Joe Riemer will conduct the pieces selected for this concert: The Circus Galop by Roger Jones, Inglesina "The Little English Girl" by Davide Delle Cese, An Irish Rhapsody by Clare Grundman, and music from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. The band will accompany Mithril on several Irish pieces. Featured events will be a children's march with flags and the "Checkered Tablecloth Award" for the most interesting picnic setup. In case of rain, the concert will be rescheduled for June 2.
